Book Week

Today We had the Book Week Parade and I dressed up as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.  Alot of effort went into making the costume, with special thanks to Grandma for making the cloak.  Mummy and me made a hat, wand and a book aswell.  We plaited my hair the night before so it would be frizzy like Hermiones.  When I first got to school everyone said that I looked great.  We went to the SSJ to have the parade.  First each class paraded around the hall in their costumes and when it came to our class the teacher asked some of us who we were dressed as, I said 'Hermione Granger' and I got the giggles which was a bit embarrassing.  The prizes were awarded at the end to the best costume from each class, the prize was a gift voucher from book city.  I was very excited when the teacher called my name!!  We all had to stand up the front, then here comes the most embarrassing part, I had to dance to a wiggles song (All the teachers were dressed as wiggles characters my teacher was dressed as Dorothy the Dinosaur) with all the teachers and all the people that won!!!!

My dad made these images using his computer tricks and he also took me into book city when he got home from work this afternoon so I could use my voucher to buy the 3rd book in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'.  I got to choose what we had for dinner and we had Indian because I love the papadums the best - I have had an extremely good run of good luck today I even found some lollies up the top of the pantry to snack on ;-)

School Choir

On Monday I was informed that I had been chosen to be in the Gr 3 school choir.  We had to have auditions earlier in the year, I was starting to get a bit anxious because we hadn't heard from Mrs Bourke, so it was very exciting to finally know.  We had our first rehearsal on Monday aswell and we practiced a song called 'Catch A Falling Star'.  Mrs Bourke said before we have an Eistedford we must have our shoes very shiny, which was lucky because Mum had polished my shoes that very morning!

CATCH A FALLING STAR
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day

For love may come and tap you on the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day

For love may come and tap you on the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight ...Pocketful of starlight, hm,hm,hm,hm,hm,hm

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day
Save it for a rainy, save it for a rainy, rainy, rainy, day

For when your troubles start multiplyin' and they just might
It's easy to forget them without tryin'
With just a pocketful of starlight
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket

Save it for a rainy day

My Big Weekend!

On the weekend, Locke and Daddy went to Melbourne to see the football.  So mummy and I went shopping with my birthday money, I bought a Nintendo DS pro pack, an art box, new scrapbook, pencils, crayons and textas, some new slippers and a new book.  We always go to the book shop and buy books, but I needed a new series to start as I have been finished Harry Potter for a while now so I have started 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' which has 13 books in the series and I have just finished the first book already so I am going to ask Dad to get the next one for me next time he goes past the book shop.  We also went to chickenfeed and got some chocolate which was yum.

Me giving Locke a hug before he went on the plane.

My new slippers that were a bargain, they were $24 reduced to $17 then with another 25% off that!!!!!  BARGAIN

Zak!  He was a good boy and he let mummy and me have some time together.

Saturday night I went to my cousin Tori's First Holly Communion and Confirmation. My little cousin Harry was talking alot during the mass which made it quite funny. She looked very nice and after the mass we went to the St Theresa's hall for a small celebration for all the people who made their First Holy Communion. I will be having mine next year I am quite excited.
On Sunday we went to see Kung fu Panda it was really funny.  Zak was very good indeed he didn't cry once and he actually watched the first half!  And slept the second half.  After that we went to the games area and I played the ball game. It was all very fun.  We picked up Locke and Daddy from the airport that afternoon and came home for a big rest!

Beijing Olympic Mascots

Tonight is the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2008. They decided to open it on the 8th of the 8th 08, 8 past 8 because it is the Chinese lucky number.  These are the five Beijing mascots, I think they are all very cute my favourite one is 'Beibei' the blue one.  I have just realised that all of the mascots stand for one of the olympic rings colours.  In our time its is at 10 and it is too late for me to stay up to watch it because mummy and I have our shopping day tomorrow and also we are taking Daddy and Locke to the airport so Mum said we need to have an early night to get lots of sleep.
Tonight Mum painted my nails to get ready for our big day out, my toe nails are red and my finger nails are pink (we will have to take it off again before Monday).

NSW Science Comp

This  is the first post that Mummy has let me type ALL by myself so I am a little nervous ;-)
Today at assembly  I received  a certificate saying that I had got a Distinction in the science competition I had entered a few months before.
Mum and Dad were both very proud of me. I rang Dad while he was at work and I also told him about my school report which I was very pleased  with. Locke's was also very good.
I also Googled and added this image with Mum's help.
Hope you liked my typeing : - )
